Ent- (non-earthly-delights) - Libby Heaney

Libby Heaney was commissioned by Frieze Sculpture to make a new work to be shown in Regent's Park, London. Together with Libby I developed a new AR work activated by QR codes alongside the physical sculpture.

From a development and technical art perspective this one threw up lots of challenges and it was good to be pushed by Libby to explore what's possible in the realm of Web AR. I developed in Unity and did a lot of the animation work in Shader Graph, using Houdini's VAT tools for the simulation type effects and using Blender's Geometry Nodes to store Pivot Painter style information in UV maps and Vertex colour for the "particle effects". I was surprised how performant the whole thing was and really pleased with what we achieved.
